Jakarta Tours & Tickets

Every trip worth taking in and around the capital — compared, priced and bookable in a couple of taps.

Jakarta is a city where a guide earns their fee. Distances are long, the sights are scattered across districts with very different characters, and the difference between a smooth day and three hours in traffic is knowing which order to do things in. The list below is grouped by the kind of day you want: the classic city highlights, food and evenings, or a day out of town.

Everything here is booked through GetYourGuide, which means live availability, free cancellation on most options and reserve-now-pay-later on many. Prices are indicative “from” amounts in euros and change with the season and exchange rate — tap any card for the live price in your own currency.

An honest note on the Thousand Islands: GetYourGuide’s choice of island trips from Jakarta is small and thinly reviewed compared with its city tours. We list the two most established options and explain the alternatives on our Thousand Islands page.

Booking questions

Frequently asked questions

Which Jakarta tour is best for a first visit?

A guided city highlights tour. The full-day version has the most reviews and covers both the monumental centre and the old town; the private half-day tour suits short stays and layovers.

Do tours include hotel pickup?

Most city tours and day trips offer pickup from hotels in central Jakarta; food tours and walking tours usually start from a meeting point near an MRT or TransJakarta station. Check the “meeting point” section before booking.

Are entrance fees included?

It varies by product. Many city tours include guide and transport but leave small entrance fees (museums, Monas) to pay on the day. Each listing states exactly what is and is not included.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Most experiences on GetYourGuide can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start. The exact terms are shown on each product page before you pay.

Is a day trip to Bandung realistic?

Yes, but it is a long day. Tours that drive both ways take around 14 hours; tours that use the Whoosh high-speed train for at least one leg are shorter and less tiring.
